Nowadays, the economy is getting better, and the living standards of ordinary people have improved. People's pursuit of quality of many daily necessities such as clothes, shoes, bags, etc. in daily life has also increased relatively. In order to be comfortable and durable, many people choose leather products. However, they often spend a high price, but what they buy is not leather, so many people are very upset. Today, let's learn several ways to distinguish between genuine leather and artificial leather.

Genuine leather products are natural and are made from the skin of animals. The leather we often talk about in the market now generally refers to the first layer of cowhide, second layer of leather, and synthetic leather. In terms of price, the first layer of cowhide is more expensive, the second layer of leather is second, and the synthetic product is the least.
Artificial leather is made of basic chemical raw materials. It is made of various different recipes of polyurethane foam or film such as PVC and PU on a textile base or non-woven base. Although the surface looks like leather, most artificial leathers cannot be compared with leather in terms of touch, elasticity and breathability, so their prices are much cheaper.

Observing the surface with the eyes, the smoothness and fineness of the leather surface are different, with obvious pores and textures, and there are usually velvet inside. Artificial leather is uniform in thickness, smooth in surface, without imperfections, and there is usually no velvet inside. If you smell it with your nose, if it is leather, you will smell the smell of fur, even if these natural leathers have been artificially processed, they will still leave a smell. If it is artificial leather, there will be a smell of plastic if you smell it carefully.
Touch it with your hand, the leather feels very flexible, and will naturally wrinkle when bent, and the folds are uneven. If you pull hard, it will also show good elasticity. Artificial leather feels less responsive to touch, and the size of the folds is similar after bending.

Finally, the breathability and water absorption capacity of the leather are used for identification. Drop a drop of water on the object and wait for a while. If the water completely disappears, it is genuine leather, because the leather has a strong water absorption capacity. If the water is not absorbed, it is very likely to be PU leather.
